Enjoy Life Products Review

My son was diagnosed more than 3 years ago with several food allergies.  I had hardly known anyone with food allergies and I had NO clue what to do and how to feed my kid!  On a visit to St. Louis almost that many years ago, we got a chance to hang out with a dear friend of mine.  I didn’t know until then that she had TWO kids that had Celiac and she was an old pro at the gluten free thing!  She happened to have a box of Enjoy Life cookies in her pantry and that began my love of all things from this awesome company.

Since we deal with multiple food allergies and aggravations (wheat, peanut, tree nut, eggs, corn and dairy), it’s easy to find products that cater to one ingredient but not the others.  Not so with Enjoy Life!!!  They have SO many links to help you with nailing down their policies and procedures with ingredients, that I don’t have space to share them all!  Their facility is dedicated and free of the top 8 allergens: gluten, peanut, tree nut, eggs, dairy, soy, shellfish and fish.  You can check out some cool info about their careful testing and procedures here and there are many places to go within their website from there.

I contacted the Enjoy Life folks to see if there was anything new and exciting that I could review for you all and they were very generous!  I received a bag of their new Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mega Chunks and Double Chocolate Crunch Granola.  For the sake of review, I *almost* kept them to myself, but I figured I had to see if the kids liked them, too.  To be fair and unbiased, right. :)

First, we tried the Double Chocolate Crunch Granola in a parfait type snack.  I was in LOVE!  I was so glad to finally find a GOOD granola that I could safely share with my kids!  It has a great crunch and there are even semi-sweet mini chips in it (thus the “double chocolate” in the name!)

Chocolate Banana Parfait

yes, the parfait is in a tree…

Chocolate Banana Parfait
serves two

1- 5.3 oz container of Oikos Organic Chocolate Greek Yogurt (you could also sub 3/4 cup plain or vanilla yogurt with a swirl of chocolate syrup)
1 banana, sliced
2 TB Enjoy Life Semi-sweet Chocolate Mini Chips
1/2 cup Enjoy Life Double Chocolate Crunch Granola

Take 2 clear glasses (I used half-pint canning jars) and layer ingredients in the order given, leaving a dollop of yogurt, slice of banana and a few chips for the topping.  Serve right away, as the granola will absorb moisture from the yogurt and banana and get soggy.

Today, I used the Semi-sweet Mega Chunks in my Homemade Gluten Free Egg Free Oat Bars.  The chunks melted up so nice, like regular chocolate and every bar has a nice, gooey spot of chocolatey goodness!  I tweaked my recipe a little bit, and you can find the new recipe here.  The chocolate is not too bitter, not too sweet.  Just the right combo for anything you want to add a little or a lot of chocolate too!

I’m hoping that the Enjoy Life folks will someday expand their chocolateness to add white chocolate chips…THAT would be incredible!  Can I get an amen?!?!

Enjoy life has also launched some new products that I’m hoping to find in my stores soon.  They are known for their chewy cookies, but they have also added crunchy cookies to their arsenal!  Whether you try something new or one of their old standard products, you can find them at many major grocery stores.  I think it’s safe to say that we are definitely fans for life!

I was provided the 2 products from Enjoy Life Foods to review.  I was not paid for my thoughts and the opinions expressed are completely my own.
